The East Aurora Garden Club combines the beauty of poetry and flowers in the club’s Poetry and Posies Flower Show. The show will feature two divisions. One will consist of floral arrangements for dining, reception, and exhibition tables, as well as arrangements showcasing roses, mantles featuring garlands, and a design class mix of potted plants and cut blooms called pot-et-fleur. The second division will be dedicated to horticulture specimens. There will be miniature landscapes grown in wooden boxes, as well as a variety of plants in window boxes, hanging baskets and containers. The Ode to a Vegetable category will feature displays of a range of vegetables. Because it is a Federated Garden Club Standard Flower Show, two education exhibits are included. “Dear, Deer’, What Can the Matter Be” deals with preventing deer damage; “The Green Scene” promotes recycling.
