Interested in helping with Buffalo Niagara’s renaissance?

Gardens Buffalo Niagara, the entity that runs Garden Walk Buffalo, is a recognized tourism organization encompassing 19 other garden walks in the Buffalo Niagara region, Tours of Open Gardens in July, specialty garden tours, the Buffalo-style Garden Art Sale, and other garden related events in the area. As we grow, it takes a number of volunteers to plan, coordinate, publicize, and organize the many events under its umbrella.

The Board of Directors is the governing body for the organization. Once a year the members of the Board are up for election. In addition to the usual President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, there are other voting and non-voting positions. They include Board Directors (voting positions), Finance Committee, Revenue Committee, Strategic Planning Group, Legal Workgroup, Garden Walk Buffalo Committee, Events Committee, Marketing & Public Relations, Technology Committee, and Volunteer Coordination Workgroup (most of these are non-voting positions). Some committees meet regularly, some on an as-needed basis, and some are seasonal.

Other committees work on other functions of the group, they include coordinators of tables at community events (Plantasia for instance), grant writers, database management, social media marketing (we do have a Facebook page), website content writing, manager of the various printed materials and a graphic artist to create them (Garden Walk Buffalo map for example).
